The Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Initiative Reauthorization Act of 2025 is designed to continue and enhance the protection and restoration of marine resources in the Northwest Straits region of Washington State, including parts of Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The primary objective is to ensure the health of marine ecosystems while promoting sustainable resource use. A significant aspect of the act is the reestablishment of the Northwest Straits Advisory Commission, which will comprise 14 members appointed from local marine resource committees and Tribal governments.
