The purpose of the Bringing Real Accountability Via Enforcement in Burma Act, also known as the BRAVE Burma Act, is to enhance accountability for actions taken by the military government in Burma (Myanmar) by extending existing sanctions and improving reporting requirements related to these sanctions. One of the key provisions of the Act is that it requires the President to assess and report on whether certain individuals and entities in Burma should be subject to sanctions. This assessment must be done within 180 days of the Act's enactment and then annually for the next seven years.
