The purpose of this legislation is to update the Migratory Bird Treaty Act to better protect and clarify the rights of Alaska Natives regarding their traditional handicrafts that include nonedible parts of migratory birds. The aim is to ensure that authentic Alaska Native handicrafts can be legally made, sold, and transported without the risk of violating existing laws related to migratory birds.
