The purpose of this legislation is to assess the national security risks posed by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) foreign influence activities. It aims to understand how these activities affect the United States and its allies, particularly in key regions around the world. The key provisions of the law require the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) to conduct a thorough assessment of the CCP's influence activities outside the United States over a three-year period starting from January 1, 2023.
