The Government Office Realignment and Closure Act of 2025, known as the GORAC Act, is designed to enhance the efficiency of federal agencies by identifying and eliminating duplicative, wasteful, or outdated functions. The primary aim is to streamline government operations, reduce unnecessary spending, and ensure that federal programs effectively achieve their objectives. Under this act, the Comptroller General is mandated to conduct evaluations of federal programs every ten years, beginning one year after the law is enacted.
