The purpose of this resolution is to express support for establishing November 8, 2025, as "National First-Generation College Celebration Day." This day aims to honor and recognize the contributions and challenges faced by first-generation college students, as well as to celebrate the anniversary of the Higher Education Act of 1965, which was designed to improve access to higher education for low-income and first-generation students.
