The Accessing Satellite Capabilities to Enable New Discoveries Act, also known as the ASCEND Act, aims to enhance the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) ability to utilize commercial Earth remote sensing data and imagery. The main objective is to improve scientific research, operational needs, and educational purposes by acquiring and sharing this data more effectively. The Act establishes a new program within NASA called the Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition Program.
