The Northwest Wetlands Voluntary Incentives Program Act aims to improve habitats and water availability for shorebirds, waterfowl, and other birds that depend on wetlands. The main goal is to enhance and restore these habitats in the Columbia River Basin and along the coasts of Oregon and Washington. The Act establishes a pilot program managed by the Secretary of the Interior, which will provide grants and technical assistance to eligible entities. These entities can include government agencies, Tribal organizations, nonprofits, conservation districts, and private landowners.
