The purpose of the Healthcare Workforce Resilience Act is to strengthen the healthcare workforce in the United States by allowing the use of unused immigrant visas specifically for professional nurses and physicians. This initiative aims to address the ongoing shortage of healthcare professionals in the country, especially in light of challenges faced during public health crises. Key provisions of the Act include the recapture of up to 40,000 unused employment-based immigrant visas. Out of these, 25,000 visas are designated for professional nurses and 15,000 for physicians.
